SJOG HomeComing up next...Celebrate Bastille Day with San José Opera GuildBastille Day will be a gala event in San Jose thanks to a special dinner offered by the San José Opera Guild and a concert by artists of Opera San José. French opera arias will fill the air at Santana Row beginning at 7 p.m. July 11 in celebration of Bastille Day. Preceding the event, the San José Opera Guild is offering a celebration dinner at the Left Bank Brasserie. Included in the price of the dinner is reserved seating for the concert. For $75 per person (SJOG members) or $85 (non-members), dinner guests will be treated to a glass of champagne and a three-course French dinner including a choice of Coq au Vin, Hamburger Americain or Risotto with asparagus & mushrooms in the Le Salle des Amis Room in the French restaurant beginning at 5pm. Dinner guests will then be entitled to reserved seating for the concert, which includes an hour of French arias and duets by resident artists from Opera San José. During the opera season, the Guild sponsors lectures and previews at three different venues to coincide with the San Francisco Opera and Opera San José’s yearly offerings. The Guild organizes social events ranging from season opening dinners to educational programs. In addition, the Guild publishes a quarterly newsletter containing information on opera related events throughout the bay area. |
